Development

Very many buildings that we enjoy in society are the result of successfully managed development risk. We have:

  • Identified the potential of a property for development.

  • Determined whether that potential can be permitted

  • Realised the potential by construction

We have also provided design skills for landowners in order to improve market value.

Nicholson Street, Abbotsford:

The landowner needed to sell this property and realise best value in order to reinvest in property for new charitable work. Studio B was asked to illustrate the sales documents with a design solution for the site that a developer might seek to achieve. The brief was both to maximise value and to propose a sustainable scheme.

The client and real estate agent considered that Studio B’s work improved the sale price that was achieved

Hunter's Moon, Clevedon, UK:

A development of 10 houses each with a coastal views. The houses have split levels internally and were generously planned. This UK project was built with a brick veneer and timber frame, like many Australian houses.

This received the National Housing Design Award .

Sydney Road, Brunswick:

This development of 6 units behind a heritage building in Brunswick has now received a planning permit. The site is very restricted and is gathered around a small courtyard. The permit includes adaptation of the heritage building to cafe & offices.

The improved land value will assist in funding refurbishment and extension to the adjoining church.
